DISCUSSION FOR: What Hair Colour Is Best For Curly Hair?
As someone who has naturally curly hair, I’ve experimented with different hair colours over the years. I’ve found that choosing the right colour for curly hair is all about working with your natural hair tone and complexion.
For me, warm brunette shades tend to look best and bring out the natural highlights in my curls. When I go too light or too ashy with my hair colour, I feel like it clashes with my skin tone and makes my curls look dull. Rich chocolate browns and deep auburn reds give my ringlets a healthy, glossy look. Going a shade or two darker than my natural colour also helps the definition stand out in my spirals and coils.
I’d recommend trying to stick close to your natural hair colour if you have curly hair. Stark black or bleached blonde never seem to look quite right to me with tight curls. The trick is finding a colour in the same depth family that will accentuate your natural waves and kinks instead of fighting against them. Work with your complexion and base hair tone for a curl-enhancing colour choice!
